Portugal: Winning at Losing

This week, Jazzi, Rory, Rosie and Tim take a trip to Portugal – the country that, up until 2017, was the country waiting the longest time to score its first win. We look back at some of our favourite Portuguese Eurovision songs, as well as discussing the prominence of the Portuguese language in both Festival da Canção and their eventual entry to the Contest. We also have a rather frank discussion on Salvador Sobral and his effect and legacy on Eurovision – so be warned!

What do you think of our opinions? Should Portugal try sending a song entirely in English? What can RTP do to score another win? And what are your thoughts on Salvador Sobral? Please do not hesitate to get in touch by commenting below and following our social media!
